The National Orange Show Names Two
New Members to its 2004 Board of Directors:
David Cornwall and Bob Gray Join the NOS Board of Directors
San Bernardino–February 3,
2004—The National Orange Show today announced that David L. Cornwall and Bob
Gray have been elected to the 2004 board of directors of the National Orange
Show and that Barbara Riordan has been elected Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Cornwall is the current Publisher of the
Press-Enterprise and Chief Executive Officer of the Press-Enterprise
Company. He brings more than 40 years of business experience in the Inland
Empire, including a strong background in all categories of newspaper
advertising and management of corporate assets, to the board. He is involved
in numerous associations including the Greater Riverside Chamber of
Commerce, the California Newspaper Publishers Association, the La Sierra
University Foundation, and the Monday Morning Group. David Cornwall earned
his bachelor’s in Operations Management at the California State University,
Fullerton.
Mr. Gray is the Publisher of The Sun newspaper
in San Bernardino. He brings over 35 years of newspaper experience and a
results-oriented track record of performance and promotion to the NOS board.
Mr. Gray is a Director of the Children’s Fund association and is a member of
the Operating Board of MediaNews Group. His education includes business
operations and management training at Mt. San Jacinto Junior College,
Riverside City College, Cal State San Bernardino, and the University of
California, Riverside.
Barbara Riordan, chairman of the board of
directors, commented, “I am very pleased to have both David Cornwall and Bob
Gray join the National Orange Show’s board and want to extend a warm welcome
to them. Both gentlemen will bring valuable experience and abilities to the
board concerning several ongoing projects that will help us take our
business forward.”
Ms. Riordan was recently elected chairman of the
board of directors at the National Orange Show. She is a third generation
San Bernardino County resident whose family was in the citrus business and
has been long-time supporters of the NOS Festival. Her father, Gordon Cram,
was head of the packinghouse that operated on the National Orange Show
property in the late 1940’s into the early 1950’s. Ms. Riordan served on the
San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors for 13 years representing the 3rd
District. She has been a member of the NOS board of directors since 2000 and
currently lives with her husband, Derle, in Redlands.
