‘On the Edge’ Excitement with Outlaw Figure 8, Demolition Derby, Flybys, Fireworks and BECCA highlight partnership with Matich Corporation for “A Race to Remember” to honor military during the National Orange Show Festival

San Bernardino, CA – As a part of the family fun and entertainment of the 92nd National Orange Show Festival, Orange Show Speedway will host stock car racing on Saturday May the 26th. Admission to the Speedway that evening is free, compliments of the Matich Corporation, for all paid fair admissions. The night’s great racing at the ASA sanctioned track will include exciting action from the BSR West Late Models, Leno’s Rico Taco Legends and ASA Stock Ponies, culminating with ‘edge of your seat’ excitement with the Lucas Oil Outlaw Figure 8s, Demolition Derby and Fireworks.

The Speedway also announced that the days racing festivities would be dedicated to the unselfish sacrifices made by the proud men and women of the United States Military. The day’s activities at the speedway have been titled;

“A Race to Remember–Honoring our Heroes.”

This event is an addition to an already existing yearlong tribute by the speedway to the armed forces. At the start of 2007 Race Season, Orange Show Speedway Director of Motorsports, Joseph A Ganino Jr, announced that all servicemen and servicewomen, whether active, retired or veterans need only show identification to receive complimentary admission to any race of the 2007 season. Dan Jimenez, NOS Events Center CEO/General Manager, has guided this year’s efforts for the Festival to encourage more patriotism and focus on honoring those on who’ve sacrificed so much;

“This community and region will always be strongly affected by the state of our military. We felt that the 26th (May 26th race) would be a wonderful opportunity to take a moment, and, in a small way, say thank you for the freedoms we enjoy each and every day as proud Americans.”

As part of the celebration, military facilities across Southern CA have been contacted with invitations to all military personnel, including civilian support. Military and families in attendance will be provided with complimentary admission to the night’s races as well as Fair admission. The Marine Corp Air Combat Center has been instrumental in coordinating a military aerial flyby to kick off the festivities Saturday night.

In addition, local offices for the USO, Riverside National Cemetery and other military support organizations have also been reached to provide every opportunity for our brave soldiers to attend. The USO office at the Ontario Airport as well as representatives from Riverside National Cemetery will also be in attendance providing information to fans and military on their variety of ways of supporting the troops. Gunnery Sgt. Chris W. Cox, Public Affairs Chief, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, CA. is encouraged by the continued growth in patriotism and appreciates the efforts of the NOS Events Center and the Orange Show Speedway;

"In these times, every American is working together for a common cause.
Regardless of politics, social status, race or religion, we all stand together when it comes to loving and serving this country. Those of us serving in the armed forces have become the focal point of patriotism recently for the work we're doing. The attention, thank you's and recognition -- like this great event the NOS Events Center, Orange Show Speedway and their supporting agencies are putting on -- mean so much to us.

This particular event is an opportunity for some of the Marines, sailors and
their families stationed at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine
Palms, Calif., to spend time together and enjoy some quality entertainment."

For those unable to attend the races or out of the area can still be apart of the action and celebration. Orange Show Speedway LIVE broadcasts every race evening from 8-9pm PST locally on 1350AM KTDD with an Internet simulcast on WWW.NIXACOUNTRY.COM. With special thanks to Toyota of San Bernardino, KTDD 1350 AM ‘The Toad’ and Nixa Country, Orange Show Speedway LIVE will air the entire “A Race to Remember” tribute with a very special broadcast that will air the May 26th race evening from 6:30pm – 9:30pm.

The Toyota of San Bernardino family appreciates the opportunity to support the Orange Show Speedway & "A Race To Remember" and salutes all of the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces.
-Clayton Kong, General Sales Manager, Toyota of San Beranrdino

The evening intermission will also be one to remember with tributes to our troops and an unforgettable performance by #1 Indie Country Artist BECCA who will perform ‘God Bless America’ for the troops and wasted no time to join the festivities;

"When I was asked to participate in this program, there was no decision to be made! I immediately wanted to be involved and do anything I could to support our brave men and women who risk their lives everyday to preserve our freedom and way of life!" – INDIE Country Music Artist BECCA
