OSS ENFORCES FAMILY ATMOSPHERE WHILE OPENING DOORS TO RIVERSIDE FOR RACING AND DERBY

     SAN BERNARDINO (July 22, 2008) – Joe Ganino, Director of Motorsports at Orange Show Speedway mandates one mantra here at the historic ¼ mile oval; Affordable, Fun & Family. Ganino, along with Director of Competition Gary Stockman, announced penalties from actions committed by family members of OSS that impact point standings in two of OSS premier divisions.

Rule 6-1.1 of the OSS Rule book states; The driver shall be the sole spokesperson for his/her car owner and pit crew in any and all matters pertaining to an event. At all times the driver assumes responsibility for the actions of his/her team.

As a result, drivers Austin Murphy and Jimmy Rouse Jr have been placed on probation for one year and fined $1000 for separate incidents during the July 12th Race Night at OSS. Gary and Joe truly dislike this part of their duties, but Ganino has now had to levy hefty penalties like this for the second consecutive year and hopes to change perceptions of local stock car racing;

“Our emphasis is on family as we try to introduce new people to the sport, both in the stands as well as the pits, we have rules and regulations that must be followed. Whether at a race track or in society, the actions from the 12th are not acceptable by any means.”
